Devoted to family traditions with cultural influences of Haiti and Jamaica, this melting pot of island flavors is infused throughout our menu.
Cy’s Restaurant & Lounge is inspired by the late Cyrenius Menard. Cy, who was born into a loving and sizable family, graduated from St. Joseph's Regional High School in 2021. Cy secured several football scholarships, earning a spot at Sacred Heart University before his life was tragically taken in May of 2022.
Cy’s family has approximately 15 years of experience in the restaurant and food service industry. They've owned and operated Mom's Cooking since 2009, establishing two separate locations within Rockland County, and have catered and participated in a number of large festivals and parades such as the eastern Parkway Paraday, Governors Island and Boston's Annual Sandcastles; These events typically draw over 100,000 people over the course of a weekend.
Under the creative culinary vision of its owners (The Occena Family) and head chef, Kirk Kelly, Cy’s Restaurant will bring Caribbean Fusion Food, with soft live music and entertainment to a community that is void in this sector of food. Their Family has spent significant time constructing a highly attractive menu that combines the best flavors from the rich Haitian culture with signature Jamaican dishes, and a sprinkle of their own family twist.
“Life is like a sandwhich: No matter which way you flip it, the bread comes first.”
— Cyrenius Menard
